The NSF CAHSI INCLUDES convened a meeting to shape the collective impact of corporations, non-profits, educational and government entities, and others who share the desire to increase the numbers of Hispanics entering the workforce with graduate degrees. The meeting was hosted by Janice Zdankus, Vice President of Quality, Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Palo Alto, California on January 11-12, 2017. Sarita Brown, President of Excelencia in Education, served as the opening keynote speaker where she shared her perspective on the challenges and opportunities around collective impact projects. Her remarks set the stage for Jennifer and Jack Carter of The Shinobi Group to drive group discussions around level setting, developing key life cycle strategies, mapping problems, goal planning, as well as developing strategies for collaboration and communication. The participants worked in teams representing the cycle to align on a common agenda and shared measures. The life cycle included: K-12, community college, and undergraduate student success models; strategic initiatives, and social science, theories, and methods.
